After hearing and watch a lot of news report about baby begins dead cause by contaminated milk that fill with melamine, I was a bit skeptical about the milk I bought from Carrefour last Saturday (20 Sept).
‘More than 1,250 babies are reported to have fallen ill after drinking baby milk produced by the San Lu Group, which is 43 per cent owned by Fonterra. The milk was contaminated with the toxic chemical melamine. At least two deaths have been reported. – from efluxmedia’
It turns out to that scare me to dead that it printed at the bottom of the pack stated ‘Prepack by San Lu’. I has been purchase and consume Anlene milk at Shanghai for so long, the reason is the milk should be ‘100% imported from New Zealand’ (as printed at the pack). After ‘Melamine’s Milk Scandal’ I have some thought and question.
1. Since the news only cover about infant that could kill but adult will not be affected. How true is it and how many similar cases has happened? Any doctors, official report or scientific data prove that it does not have impact to adult or at least what is the symptom.
2. Recall those product is happen on the dealer but is there any news that to request consumer to return to any station? Should the government to put a more stern action about recalling product if they really value people live and mind their citizen. Not slogan but actions do speak louder than words but it did turn out to be ‘mind your own businesses.
3. Did it really solve the problem after firing 4 officer and the boss of San lu after the scandal explode to the world or should we said by happen any repeated case and the person should be get fired only. Also how many people get fire just because to cover this type of scandal. Is there any legal action taking against the company and person accountable? Scapegoat or dummy. Driving a Cardilac make you look like a rich man but when you are at jail there is nothing for you and they should serve milk for life! “The firings included the vice mayor in charge of agriculture, Zhang Fawang, and the director of the city's food and drug watchdog, Zhang Yi, as well as chief officials for animal husbandry and quality inspection. – from Stuff.co.nz”
4. San Lu is subsidiary of Fonterra, suppose there is and audit every year about product quality, finance, management and ext. Is this really carried out professionally? Also this type of product was supposing send to local authority lab for analysis, did the local authority carried out their job as the slogan stick on the wall? Fonterra said all products were using 100% milk from New Zealand then why announce a recall?
5. New Zealand government has well understood and knowing what has happen about this issue, why it did not make it lawsuit case direct to company if there is no recall begins done? Fail to act or slow to act. It only begin to do something after China local authority failed to act, which is quite suspicious about it.
6. Who is really responsible for this case? Fonterra, San Lu’s Boss, Local authority, New Zealand government, professional body that carry drug test? That is not important any more, people has die and scarify for this bunch of people to get rich that do not have any meaning to them. Civilize, ethical or honest all this word should remove from dictionary and should not be taught at school. Is it the failure of education that not able to educate us?
